I am painting another in the series of Opportunity Knocks; I put the 1st one in the FCA show last month and it sold before the show opened. We'll see if this one is as successful as the last; regardless, it really is a fun painting to do. I use a very limited pallet, and a few techniques to add texture.
In this one I'm going to attempt to cast a shadow (that doesn't exist in the resource image) over the bottom 2/3rds of the image to really bring the door knob into focus. I've posted the beginnings i.e the under-painting...as it progresses I will add updates. Tell me how you might do it differently to create a different effect.
